Reconnecting a Disconnected Account

When Reconnection Is Needed

An account may need to be reconnected if:

  • The authentication token has expired and could not be refreshed automatically.
  • You changed the password on your Google account.
  • You revoked GBPCentral's access from your Google account settings.
  • Google flagged the connection for security reasons.

When this happens, the account status changes to "Error" or "Disconnected," and the platform can no longer publish posts or collect analytics for that location.

How to Reconnect

  1. Go to the Accounts page.
  2. Find the account with the error or disconnected status.
  3. Click the Reconnect button.
  4. You will be redirected to Google to sign in and re-authorize access.
  5. After granting permission, you will be brought back to GBPCentral and the account will be restored to active status.

What Happens During Reconnection

When you reconnect, the system updates the authentication tokens and triggers a fresh sync of your business data. All your existing posts, analytics history, and settings for that account are preserved. You do not lose any data when reconnecting.

Preventing Disconnections

GBPCentral automatically refreshes authentication tokens before they expire. In most cases, your connection will stay active without any action on your part. However, if you change your Google account password or manually revoke app access, the tokens become invalid and you will need to reconnect.
