Using Call-to-Action Buttons

What Are Call-to-Action Buttons

A call-to-action (CTA) button appears at the bottom of your Google Business Profile post. It gives customers a clear next step, like visiting your website, making a booking, or placing an order. Adding a CTA button is optional but can significantly increase engagement with your posts.

Available Button Types

GBPCentral supports the following CTA button types:

  • Book — For appointment or reservation links.
  • Order — For product ordering or food delivery links.
  • Learn More — For general information pages.
  • Sign Up — For registration or subscription pages.
  • Call — Prompts customers to call your business directly.

How to Add a CTA Button

  1. In the post creation form, look for the Call-to-Action section.
  2. Select the button type from the dropdown.
  3. Enter the destination URL (up to 500 characters). This is the page customers will be taken to when they click the button.

Make sure the URL you provide is working and relevant to the button type you selected. For example, a "Book" button should link to a booking page, not a homepage.

Tips for Effective CTAs

  • Match the button type to the purpose of your post. If you are promoting a sale, use "Order." If you are sharing information, use "Learn More."
  • Test the link before publishing to make sure it loads correctly.
  • Keep the landing page relevant. Customers should find exactly what the post promised when they click through.
