Adding Images to Your Posts
Why Add Images
Posts with images consistently get more views and engagement than text-only posts. A relevant, high-quality photo draws attention and encourages customers to read your update.
Supported Formats
You can upload images in the following formats:
- JPEG (.jpg, .jpeg)
- PNG (.png)
- GIF (.gif)
- WebP (.webp)
How Images Are Processed
When you upload an image, GBPCentral automatically processes it for the best results:
- Auto-orientation — If your photo was taken sideways, it will be rotated to the correct position based on the image data.
- Resizing — Images larger than 1200x1200 pixels are scaled down while keeping the original proportions.
- Format conversion — All images are converted to WebP format for faster loading. When publishing to Google, the system automatically converts back to JPEG since the Google API requires that format.
- Thumbnail generation — A smaller preview version is created for use in post listings.
Size Limits
The maximum file size for uploads is set by your platform administrator, typically around 10 MB. If your image is too large, try reducing its resolution or saving it in a compressed format before uploading.
Tips for Better Images
- Use well-lit, clear photos that represent your business.
- Avoid text-heavy images. Google sometimes filters out images with too much text.
- Square or landscape images tend to display best on Google Business Profiles.
- Show real photos of your products, services, team, or location rather than generic stock images.
