Understanding Analytics Data Sources

Where Your Data Comes From

The analytics you see in GBPCentral come from Google's Business Profile Performance API. This is the same data source that powers the Insights section in Google's own Business Profile dashboard. GBPCentral collects this data, stores it, and presents it in a way that is easier to analyze, compare, and export.

Account-Level Metrics

These metrics describe how customers find and interact with your business listing:

  • Profile Views — Total views of your business profile.
  • Search Views — How many times your listing appeared in Google Search results.
  • Maps Views — How many times your listing appeared in Google Maps.
  • Website Clicks — Clicks on the website link in your profile.
  • Phone Calls — Taps on the call button.
  • Direction Requests — Requests for driving directions.
  • Bookings — Online booking actions through your profile.
  • Food Orders — Food ordering actions (for restaurant profiles).
  • Conversations — Messages sent through your profile.

Platform Breakdown

GBPCentral also collects data about how your listing is found across different platforms:

  • Desktop Search
  • Desktop Maps
  • Mobile Search
  • Mobile Maps

This breakdown helps you understand which devices and platforms your customers use most.

Search Keywords

Google provides monthly data about which search terms led customers to find your business. GBPCentral collects the top keywords along with their impression counts, so you can see what people are searching for when they discover your listing.

Data Collection Schedule

Analytics are collected automatically several times per day. Google's data has a typical delay of 2 to 3 days, meaning the most recent data available is usually from a few days ago. Historical data is stored daily, so you can track trends over weeks and months.

Data Retention

All collected analytics data is stored in GBPCentral's database. Unlike Google's own dashboard, which limits how far back you can look, GBPCentral retains your historical data for as long as your account is active.
