My Post Failed to Publish

Understanding Failed Posts

When GBPCentral sends a post to Google, several things are checked: the content, the image, the connected account's authorization, and Google's own processing. If any step goes wrong, the post is marked as "Failed" and an error message is recorded.

Common Reasons for Failure

  • Authentication expired — Your Google account connection may have lost its authorization. Go to the Accounts page and check if the account shows an error status. If so, reconnect it.
  • Image processing issues — Google sometimes fails to fetch the image from GBPCentral's servers. This is usually temporary. Retrying the post often resolves it.
  • Content policy violation — Google may reject posts that violate their content policies. Review your post text and image to make sure they comply with Google's guidelines.
  • Rate limiting — If too many posts are sent in a short period, Google may temporarily block requests. Wait a few minutes and retry.
  • Google server errors — Occasionally, Google's own servers experience issues. These are temporary and usually resolve on their own.

How to Retry

On the Posts page, find the failed post and click the Retry button. The system will attempt to publish it again. Each post allows up to 3 retry attempts with increasing wait times between each try (1 minute, 2 minutes, then 4 minutes).

If All Retries Fail

If the post fails after 3 attempts, check the following:

  1. Make sure the connected account is still active (not in error state).
  2. Review the error message for specific details.
  3. Try duplicating the post and publishing the copy. This can help if the issue was with a specific image or formatting.
  4. If the problem persists, contact support with the error message details.

Email Notifications

GBPCentral sends you an email notification when a post fails to publish after all retries have been exhausted. This way, you are aware of the failure even if you are not logged in.
