Issues with Images in Posts
Supported Formats
GBPCentral accepts images in JPEG, PNG, GIF, and WebP formats. If you try to upload a different format, the upload will be rejected. Convert your image to one of these formats before uploading.
File Size Limits
There is a maximum file size for image uploads (typically around 10 MB). If your image exceeds this limit, reduce its resolution or compress it before uploading. Most image editing tools have a "Save for Web" or "Export" option that can reduce file size without a noticeable loss in quality.
Image Processing Errors
If you see an error during upload, possible causes include:
- Corrupted file — The image file may be damaged. Try re-saving it from your original source and uploading again.
- Unsupported encoding — Some advanced image features (like CMYK color mode) are not supported. Make sure your image uses RGB color mode.
- Very small images — Extremely small images may not pass the processing pipeline. Use images that are at least a few hundred pixels in each dimension.
Image Appears Rotated
Photos taken on mobile phones sometimes contain orientation data (EXIF) that tells software how to display them. GBPCentral reads this data and auto-rotates images to the correct orientation. If your image still appears rotated, open it in an image editor, rotate it manually, save it, and upload the corrected version.
Google Rejects the Image
Even if GBPCentral accepts your image, Google may reject it during publishing. Common reasons include:
- The image contains too much text.
- The image violates Google's content policies.
- Google's servers could not fetch the image (a temporary issue; retrying usually helps).
If a post fails because of an image issue, try publishing without the image to confirm the content works, then re-add a different image.
