The WordPress editor use Tiny MCE that we use to add posts and pages and comes with some buttons by default like text bold,Italics,insert paragraph,and others. There are some useful buttons that are not included and you can easily add some more buttons by adding a code in functions.php for the buttons.

Found  a full list of buttons on Tiny MCE website mix and match what ever you want by using the code below as example.
